Volunteers and fundraising
Leukaemia Care’s work is made possible through the support of volunteers, fundraisers, partners and donors across the UK.
How people support our work
Leukaemia Care is funded through voluntary income. Individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners all play an important role in helping us continue to provide information, advice and support to people affected by blood cancer.
Many supporters take part in fundraising events and personal challenges to raise money for the charity. Others organise community activities such as coffee mornings, sports events and local fundraising initiatives. Some supporters choose to make regular donations or leave gifts in their wills to help ensure that future patients and families can access support when they need it.
In 2025, 737 people took part in 64 fundraising challenge events, including more than 200 participants in the London Marathon, raising over £1 million to support Leukaemia Care’s work.
Volunteers also play a vital role in supporting our services. People with lived experience of blood cancer contribute their time by supporting our buddy service, helping to review patient information and sharing their experiences to improve our resources and services.
Through the generosity and dedication of supporters, volunteers and partners, Leukaemia Care is able to continue developing services and supporting people affected by leukaemia and related blood cancers across the UK.
