Our impact report
Leukaemia Care supports people affected by leukaemia and related blood cancers across the UK. Our services provide trusted information, emotional support and practical help for patients and families.
Our work in 2025
Our services aim to improve the lives of people affected by leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). We provide information, advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals, while also raising awareness of the issues affecting those living with these conditions.
During 2025, our helpline team provided information and reassurance to people seeking guidance about diagnosis, treatment and living with blood cancer. Our Patient Navigators supported patients in hospitals across the UK, helping them understand their diagnosis, communicate with their healthcare teams and access further support.
We also provided emotional and peer support through counselling, support groups and our buddy service. These services give patients and families the opportunity to talk about their experiences and connect with others who understand the challenges of living with blood cancer.
Practical support remained an important part of our work. Our welfare and advocacy teams helped people navigate benefits, employment issues and financial pressures that can arise after a diagnosis. Grants and financial support programmes also helped ease some of the immediate pressures faced by families.
Alongside our support services, we continued to develop trusted patient information. Our resources help people understand different types of leukaemia, treatment options and the wider impact of living with blood cancer. We also worked to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of leukaemia, encouraging earlier diagnosis and improved outcomes.
