How we support people

Understanding a diagnosis of blood cancer can be challenging. Patients and families often need clear and reliable information to help them understand their condition, treatment options and the impact of living with blood cancer.

Leukaemia Care develops a wide range of patient information resources covering different types of leukaemia, as well as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). These resources are designed to be clear, accurate and accessible so that people can feel more informed about their care.

Our information is evidence-based and regularly reviewed to ensure it reflects current medical knowledge and best practice. Resources are developed with input from healthcare professionals and people with lived experience of blood cancer.

In 2025, 45 new or updated patient information resources were published and almost 15,000 printed resources were distributed to patients, families and hospitals. Feedback from readers showed that 95% of people found our information helpful.

By providing reliable information in accessible formats, these resources help people better understand their diagnosis and make informed decisions about their care.
