How we support people

A diagnosis of blood cancer often brings uncertainty and many questions. People may want to understand more about their condition, the treatments they have been offered or the support available to them.

Our helpline team listens to people’s concerns and provides clear, reliable information to help them make informed decisions. The team also signposts callers to other support services where appropriate, including our Patient Navigators, counselling support and peer support services.

In 2025, our helpline team answered 1,215 calls and supported people through 607 WhatsApp conversations, providing guidance, reassurance and practical support.

The helpline is available to patients, carers, family members and healthcare professionals seeking information about leukaemia and related blood cancers. Every conversation is treated with care, confidentiality and understanding.
