Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a simple way to make your donation go further, at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows us to claim extra money from the government on your donation. This means your support can help even more people affected by leukaemia.
Make your donation go further with Gift Aid
If you are a UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax payer, we can claim 25p for every £1 you donate.
This extra money comes from HMRC and does not cost you anything.
How Gift Aid works
- You must be a UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax payer
- You must pay at least as much tax as we reclaim on your donations in that tax year
- Gift Aid only applies to donations made by individuals, not companies
Gift Aid example
If you donate £20, we can claim an extra £5 through Gift Aid.
This means your donation is worth £25, at no extra cost to you.
What you need to do
- Tick the Gift Aid box when donating online
- Or complete a Gift Aid form if you donate by cheque, bank transfer, or home collection tin
You only need to complete the form once. After that, all your future donations will count for Gift Aid unless you tell us otherwise.

Keeping your details up to date
Please let us know if:
- You are no longer a UK taxpayer, or no longer pay enough tax to qualify
- You change your name or address
This helps make sure Gift Aid is claimed correctly.
