About the event

Take on the Inca Trail Trek

Join #TeamLC on one of the world’s most famous trekking routes and take on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This classic charity challenge begins in Cusco, the historic Inca capital hidden deep in the Andes Mountains, before leading you along the only trail that enters Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate.

This is a demanding but incredibly rewarding trek that combines breath-taking mountain scenery, ancient Inca history and a powerful sense of achievement.

The experience

After arriving in Cusco at an altitude of 3,300m, you’ll spend time acclimatising with a guided trek around nearby Inca sites. From there, the challenge truly begins as you set off to conquer the world-renowned Inca Trail.

The route crosses three high mountain passes, with the highest reaching 4,200m. The trek will test your physical and mental resilience, but nothing compares to the moment you first see Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, with sweeping views across the Andes.

Throughout the challenge, you’ll be supported by experienced guides, medics, porters and chefs, ensuring you are well cared for every step of the way.

This is a 10-day challenge, including travel.

Highlights include:

  • Exploring the historic city of Cusco
