Access to treatment
Access to treatment should be fair, timely and based on need. This is not always the case for people affected by leukaemia, MDS and MPN.
We campaign to improve access so people can get the treatment that’s right for them.
The issues people face
Some people experience:
- Delays in starting treatment
- Differences in access depending on where they live
- Limited options for rarer conditions
These issues can cause uncertainty and distress.
Our role
We work to:
- Raise awareness of inequalities in access
- Share patient experiences and evidence
- Support calls for fair and consistent treatment access
Our focus is on people, not systems.
Evidence of this work
Our 'I wasn't born yesterday' campaign highlighted disparities that older patients with leukaemia face, particularly those diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).
