Leukaemia Care & ACAS – I have leukaemia: what are my rights at work?

Leukaemia Care & ACAS have teamed up to discuss in detail what your rights are at work as a leukaemia patient.

The aim of this webinar is to explore employment related topics to inform of rights and guidance in relation to a blood cancer diagnosis, in both COVID times and in usual times.

Topics for be covered:

  • Talking to an employer
  • Discrimination and the disability act
  • Reasonable adjustments to working practices
  • Wage entitlements, adjustments and statutory allowances
  • Conflict resolution
  • Rights at different stages – acutely ill vs. living with long term
  • Redundancy rights 

We will be joined by:

  • Simon Allen, ACAS, Senior Advisor
    Simon Allen is a Senior Advisor and Collective Conciliator for ACAS in the East Midlands with responsibility for the Leicestershire region. He has close personal interest in Mental Health issues in the workplace, Neurodiversity and Change Management. He currently chairs the ACAS East Midlands Employment relations Forum. Prior to being with ACAS, Simon spent 17 years at DWP, 10 of which involved managing teams and Job Centres as well as Outreach staff in Children Centres in deprived wards. He is very familiar with HR issues, but his real interest is in staff engagement and development; often through increasing staff involvement in change projects.

The webinar is being hosted on Zoom and Facebook, meaning you can choose a platform to suit you. Zoom is the best place to ask questions, but if you join via Facebook we will try and get all the questions sent over to our panel; however, please expect a delay.
