Fundraise in memory of a loved one

Fundraising in memory is an incredibly special and unique way to honour your loved one. Choose how you want to celebrate the life of someone special.

It can be hard to find something positive to focus on when we’re grieving and in pain, but fundraising in memory of your someone special can provide a source of comfort, a focus and a means to channel your grief. At the same time, fundraising for Leukaemia Care really will help build a brighter tomorrow for patients diagnosed with leukaemia, MDS or an MPN and their families.

Leanne’s ‘dip a day’ in memory of her Mum

“I struggled with my mum dying so suddenly, on the same day that she was diagnosed with leukaemia.   I felt that I needed to do something, to raise awareness and money for a charity linked to Leukaemia.  So after researching charities I found Leukaemia Care.  They really stuck out as on the website that awareness and education were a priority.  I then decided that in October, which would also be the first anniversary of my mum no longer being here, that I would do a cold water dip a day!  I know she would have also said I was mad, and would catch hypothermia! Doing this challenge helped me so much with my own grief, it helped me to focus and hope that by raising some money, that some good would come out of my own sadness.  I set myself a target of £150, which I totally smashed, by raising £1285!”
