Our Sheffield Support Group is a positive and supportive group who have set up their own Facebook page for members and anyone who needs support outside of group meetings and as a way of staying in touch. Meetings are both informal and social. The group offers friendship and support, a space to talk through your feelings, or just have a coffee and a laugh with people who know what you are going through.

2018 meeting dates

11th April – 6.00pm – 8.00pm – Deed Boddington, a BMT Social Worker, will be here to talk about how you tell your family members, friends, co-workers etc about your diagnosis and treatment.

13th June – 3.00pm – 5.00pm – At this group, we will be joined by Josh Wright, Consultant Haematologist, who will be here to talk about the management of lymphoma.

15th August – 6.00pm – 8.00pm – Jayne Davis, Pharmacist will be joining us to talk about how your chemotherapy prescription is processed.

10th October – 3.00pm – 5.00pm – Amy Earnshaw, a Dietician will be joining us to talk about how your treatment and condition could affect your appetite, weight and intake. She will also be giving you top tips on how to prevent weight loss and ensure your body is getting the right amount of energy and protein.

12th December – 6.00pm – 8.00pm – Our annual Christmas party.

2019 meeting dates

13th February 2019 – 3.00pm – 5.00pm – Deed Boddington, a BMT social Worker, will be talking about the 6 ways of well-being: Physical activity, learning, connecting, taking notice, giving and planning for the future.  Deed will also be talking about the lasting power of attorney, advanced directives, advanced statements of care and support wishes.
