Care & Support

Support Groups

We have a number of Scottish Support Groups available to anyone affected by the diagnosis of a blood or lymphatic cancer. The support groups provide help and advice to patients, carers and their families at an area convenient for you. The meetings are a great place to socialise, learn more and share your experience with others.

Our support groups take place monthly. We are currently increasing the number of support groups across Scotland and we would like to know if your hospital needs a support group. For more information please contact: nadine.bloomfield@leukaemiacare.org.uk

Patient Journals

We have been working hard to get our Patient Journals into hospitals across Scotland, and in 2012 the first delivery of Lanarkshire Journals was completed. They are now available for patients to use to help them through their blood cancer journey.

Our Patient Journals are an empowering tool for our patients; it helps answer their questions, and enables them to ask the right questions in the future. They feature information on the hospital, disease types, the blood and its components, different types of treatment, and a diary for patient to record any feelings or questions they may have.

Please contact our CARE Team for any questions about Patient Journals on 08088 010 444.
