We are delighted that Stourport High School has chosen Leukaemia CARE as its nominated Charity of the Year.

Each year, the High School chooses a local, national and international charity to support and raise money for. The student body, which is made up of the College captains, selected Leukaemia CARE as one of its beneficiaries after learning about the work we do for patient and families affected by all forms of blood cancer.

Students are now planning fundraising events including taking part in the our Perfect Picnic campaign, a community fun night as well as other activities taking place throughout the year.

Lorraine Hammond, senior college leader at Stourport High School, said: “We chose Leukaemia CARE because we were so impressed by the work carried out by this national charity that is on our doorstep.

“After meeting with the charity and hearing first-hand abut the vital support they provide, we were inspired to make a difference and knew it was a cause that our students would be really motivated to help.

“We are really looking forward to working with Leukaemia CARE and helping to raise awareness of the charity and blood cancers. We’re especially looking forward to joining in with the charity’s Perfect Picnic campaign next Summer, which is a great event the whole school can get behind.

“The pupils have lots of great fundraising ideas already and we hope we can raise lots of worthwhile funds for this very worth cause.”

Leukaemia CARE’s Fundraising Manager, Kevin Hateley, said: “ Leukaemia CARE is honoured to have been selected by Stourport High School as their nominated charity and we look forward to working with the pupils to raise much-needed funds and increase awareness.”
