It’s Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Leukaemia CARE are focusing specifically on raising awareness of childhood leukaemias. Brimming with ways to get involved and show your support, September is already set to be a success.

There are lots of different ways you can get involved and kicking off our fundraising is our ribbon appeal. Purchase your own ribbon and show you’re blood cancer aware. The money kindly donated for our ribbons will help us to continue to support families affected by blood cancer.

We’re also thrilled to have launched our #UpsideDown campaign. The campaign asks you to take a picture of yourself on your own, or with friends and family posing upside down. The thinking behind the campaign stems from us understanding that when a child is diagnosed with leukaemia, a whole family’s life is turned upside down. Share your pictures on social media using the hashtag #UpsideDown and be a part of this fantastic awareness campaign.

Also on offer this month, is our patient video featuring three-year-old Hugo and five-year-old Jenson. Their mums tell us how they’ve coped since a diagnosis of  leukaemia turned their lives upside down.

As well as that, you can download our childhood symptoms cards. It’s as easy as that to help us spread awareness of childhood leukaemias. With 460 children diagnosed with leukaemia each year, it’s vital that we show our support and promote an early diagnosis of childhood leukaemia, potentially improving the outcome for many children.

As if all that wasn’t enough, there are plenty of ways to fundraise for us this September and get involved with the campaign. For more information, head to our Blood Cancer Awareness Month web page and follow us on social media.
