Alfie braves the shave!

  • Alfie's headshave

A brave six-year-old has shaved off all his hair to raise money for Leukaemia CARE after his granddad was diagnosed with myeloma, a blood cancer affecting the plasma cells.

Alfie’s granddad, Steve, was diagnosed with myeloma in September 2014 when he was just 48 years old and underwent a stem cell transplant in June 2015.

Alfie saw first hand the effects of treatment and, after seeing his granddad lose his hair, he wanted to support him, and other going through a similar experience.

So, he decided to shave his hair and with support from his friends and family, has managed to raise almost £1,700, with money still coming in.

If you’d like to support Alfie, you can visit his Just Giving page here.
