Leukaemia CARE is delighted to announce the launch of a Future, a booklet which is aimed at patients who are in remission and has been specially designed to help ease their transition back to normal life and help them face the next stage of their journey.
Life outside hospital appointments and treatment can be frightening and worrying. This booklet helps to address some of the anxieties and concerns that patients and their families in remission may experience.
Future offers guidance on a range of subjects to patients and carers including:
- advice for patients who are struggling to come to terms with the emotional impact of their recovery;
- apersonal account of a previous patient who has struggled to come to terms with life after cancer;
- financial advice – including how to obtain insurance & coping with your household bills
- guidance about going back to work;
-a list of questions that you may want to ask your consultant, employer and/or counselling service;
-a signposting service to other organisations that might be able to help you more specifically with certain issues; and
- an overview of the services Leukaemia CARE can offer patients and their families.
