Patients, carers, families and friends affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and the allied blood disorders should put a date in their diaries to attend the Patient Roadshow in London on June 20. A joint effort from Leukaemia CARE and the Lymphoma Association, the roadshow marks the second time the two charities have worked together on such an event.

The Roadshow will provide useful information about the variety of disease types and the developments being made in diagnosis and treatment. Patients and carers will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the issues that affect them. The day will include talks from medical professionals on topics such as the latest developments in haematology and will take a light-hearted look at the communication between patients and doctors.

Topics will include:

    • Future developments in haematology
    • The emotional experience
    • Stem cell & bone marrow transplants
    • Complementary therapy
    • Q&A session with a leukaemia & lymphoma Clinical Nurse Specialist
    • Communication, communication, communication - role plays between patients
       and doctor
    • Patient speakers - patients will share experiences of how their lives have been
       affected by their disease

The Roadshow is free, however places are limited so book early. If you would like to contribute to the day we welcome donations of £10 to go towards the catering costs.

To book a place or for more information, call the CARE Line on: 0800 169 6680.
