Patients, carers, families and friends affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and the allied blood disorders should put a date in their diaries to attend the Patient Roadshow in Cardiff on October 18. A joint effort from Leukaemia CARE and the Lymphoma Association, the roadshow marks the first time the two charities have worked together on such an event and both are hoping to continue the partnership next year, in Leukaemia CARE’s 40th anniversary year.
The Roadshow will provide useful information about the variety of disease types and the developments being made in diagnosis and treatment. Patients and carers will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the issues that affect them. The day will include talks from medical professionals on topics such as fatigue and diet in cancer, the latest developments in haematology and will take a light-hearted look at the communication between patients and doctors.
Topics will include:
• Fatigue
• Future developments in haematology
• Late effects
• Bone marrow transplants
• Diet in cancer
• Communication, communication, communication - role plays between patients
and doctor
• Patient speakers - patients will share experiences of how their lives have been
affected by their disease
The Roadshow is free.
