What is it?
A means tested benefit for people of pension age. It’s made up of 2 elements the ‘Guarantee Credit’ and ‘Savings Credit’
Who is entitled?
- If you are 60 or over and live in the UK you may be entitled to the ‘Guarantee Credit’ element (which guarantees a minimum income if you’re on a low income). This is based on whether you are single or have a partner and have a joint income and what your weekly income is.
- If you are 65 or over you may be eligible for Savings Credit.
