What is it?
This is a means tested benefit that is related to your income for people aged 16 or over who have an income below a certain level and who are not working 16 hours or more a week.
Who is entitled?
- People between 16 and 60 years of age
- You must not work over 16 hours or more a week
- Income Support is for people who cant be available for full-time work (lone parents, carers or those with a disability or illness for example
What else do I need to know?
- Whether you qualify and how much you receive depends on your circumstances
- There is a limit to the amount of savings you can have
- If you have a partner and they work more than 24 hours, you may not be eligible
