Incapacity Benefit
 
 

What is it?

 

Incapacity Benefit is for people of a working age who are ill or disabled and cannot work due to this. It is for people who are incapable of work for four or more days in a row.

 

Who is entitled?

 

  • If your employer cannot pay you Statutory Sick Pay, or your period of Statutory Sick Pay has ran out
  • If you are self-employed
  • You must have paid enough National Insurance Contributions at the right rate and the right time

 

What else do I need to know?

 

  • Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance can be paid with Incapacity Benefit
