What is it?
Incapacity Benefit is for people of a working age who are ill or disabled and cannot work due to this. It is for people who are incapable of work for four or more days in a row.
Who is entitled?
- If your employer cannot pay you Statutory Sick Pay, or your period of Statutory Sick Pay has ran out
- If you are self-employed
- You must have paid enough National Insurance Contributions at the right rate and the right time
What else do I need to know?
- Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance can be paid with Incapacity Benefit
