Support Groups

Support Groups are at the very heart of the work of the charity. They provide a source of comfort and encouragement for patients and carers on their cancer journey and offer an opportunity to share experiences and access information in a friendly environment where they can find support.

Although a lot of people have support from their family and friends, many want to protect them from their own feelings that may add to their worry. By attending a support group, people can talk to others that have experienced exactly what they have been through themselves.

All of these people have experienced common side effects - hair loss, weight loss, weight gain, depression, unable to work due to intense fatigue, unable to work because of the risk of infection, monetary worries, adult/sibling rejection etc. But at a Support Group they know that other attendees will not judge them.
