The Cancer Campaigning Group (CCG)
An influential coalition of over 40 national cancer-related charities. Founded in 2002, the aim of the CCG is to campaign for the continued prioritisation of the prevention, treatment and research of cancers. The CCG is focused on communicating these messages to Government and parliamentarians.

Comprises 20 major charities that are active in the field of cancer in Scotland.

Over 250 member organisations represent the views of cancer patients in the European healthcare debate.

The Lymphoma Cancer Alliance
Comprising the Lymphoma Association, Leukaemia CARE, Leukaemia Research Fund and Cancerbackup.

A non-profit network organisation of lymphoma patient groups, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness of lymphoma.

Working With Independent Bodies
At Leukaemia CARE we continue to work very closely with the various independent bodies set up to report to the Government and NHS on the clinical and cost effectiveness and new and existing treatments for all blood cancers.
Their reports or ‘technical appraisals’ will say which treatments will or will not be available on the NHS, and these decisions could impact very heavily on the treatment, quality of life and outcomes for everybody using the NHS, and more importantly for Leukaemia CARE, all patients affected by a diagnosis of leukaemia, lymphoma or allied blood disorder.
Leukaemia CARE consults with, submits evidence to and where necessary, appeals to these bodies, when we disagree with their conclusions. They are:
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)
NICE is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on the promotion of good health and the prevention and treatment of ill health for the whole of the UK.
The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC)
The SMC provides advice to NHS Boards (Scotland) and their Area Drug and Therapeutics Committees (ADTCs) about the status of all newly licensed medicines, all new formulations of existing medicines and new indications for established products.
The All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG)
The AWMSG offers advice to the Minister for Health and Social Services (Wales) in an effective, efficient and transparent manner on strategic medicines management and prescribing. The AWMSG, acting in a strategic and advisory capacity, is the conduit through which consensus can be reached on medicine management issues throughout Wales.
